HCSB on the Kindle
Thom Rainer, CEO of LifeWay, the publishers of the HCSB Bible translation, has written an article about his use of the Kindle. I am posting the article here because he has a unique perspective on using the Kindle in religious services, and also because I created the Kindle version of the HCSB as part of my day job. Download it, or any of the other Kindle books I have worked on (see the sidebar for a list), for a sample of the work I can do for you!

Thanks for your great work on the Kindle version of the HCSB. I have used the HCSB for several years and have recently purchased a Kindle and really enjoy having my Bible on it.
I have noticed some differences in the translation used on the Kindle and in my Bible. I also know that they were to release a revised version of the HCSB in 2009. Do you know if the version you created for the Kindle is this new revised version?
Thanks.
Jimmy,
I'm glad you enjoy the Kindle version of the HCSB.
The text used for that edition is a transitional version. I am helping with the editing of the new version, and I was able to use some of the revised text in that Kindle version. The revision is not complete yet, but it will be in the next few months.
Interesting. So when should I expect the new Kindle version?
I'm not positive, but we are not even finished with the revision. I would not expect it until at least the Fall, but most likely not until next year when the Second Edition is officially released.
Thanks for the info. I guess it is safe to assume that you will post something when the new version is ready???
Yes, I will make a point to do that.
